Who we are

GetMyJob is operated by [legal name, registration number], [physical address], South Africa ("we"). We are the responsible party for your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). Information officer: [name], [email protected].

What we collect and why

• Your CV — to work out which jobs suit you and to explain each match. This is the only reason we use it.
• Your email address — to send your report, to contact you about your order, and (unless you opt out) to send you occasional job-search tips and offers for our own services.
• Where you want to work — to search the right area.
• Payment details — handled entirely by PayFast. We never see your card or bank details; we only receive confirmation that you paid.

We don't sell or rent your information. We only send marketing about our own services, to customers who didn't opt out when they paid (section 69(3) of POPIA). Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes your email address from our list.

Who we share it with

• Our AI service provider (based in the United States) — reads your CV to build your profile and rank jobs. It processes your CV only on our instructions, under a written agreement, and does not use it to train its AI models. Because this means your CV leaves South Africa, we rely on section 72 of POPIA: the transfer is necessary to provide the service you ask for, and the provider is bound by obligations that give protection substantially similar to POPIA.
• Job-listing services — receive only the job titles and area we search for. They never receive your CV, name or email.
• PayFast — processes your payment.
• Our email provider — delivers your report.

How long we keep it

• We never keep your CV. It is deleted as soon as your search finishes — whether it succeeded or not — and within 2 hours if you don't complete payment. We also don't keep a summary of it: only your first name, the job titles we searched for and your key skills, shown on your results.
• Your results are deleted after 30 days.
• If you didn't opt out of offers, your email address and first name stay on our contacts list until you unsubscribe.
• Payment records are kept for 5 years as required by tax law (these don't include your CV).

Everything we store is encrypted.

Your rights

You may ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email [email protected] with your order reference. You may also complain to the Information Regulator: inforegulator.org.za, [email protected].
